Georges joined Iliad Partners in 2022 as a Partner based in the UAE. At Iliad, he manages the investment and divestment activity of the Fund, as well as the post-investment phase of the Fund’s portfolio companies. He leads the evaluation, due diligence, structuring and negotiations of deals, and is a member of the IC.

 

Georges has over 16 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, and real estate investments in leading global and regional organizations such as Société Générale, Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank, Shuaa Capital, and The Olayan Group in Europe and the MENA region, including 12 years based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

Prior to joining Iliad, Georges spent over 9 years in the Private Equity & Corporate Development (“PE & CD”) team at The Olayan Group (“TOG”) based out of Riyadh and was promoted to Acting Head of the PE & CD team in 2021. TOG is a privately-owned conglomerate with offices in Riyadh, London, New York, and Singapore. During his tenure at TOG, Georges was responsible for managing the Group’s private investments, including Venture Capital, in the MENA region, Turkey, and India. He was instrumental in building TOG’s exposure to the VC space through direct investments in early-stage tech-enabled start-ups and VC funds. He also represented TOG on the board of various portfolio companies.

 

Previously, Georges was a Private Equity Associate at Shuaa Capital Saudi Arabia (“SCSA”) based out of Riyadh where he was part of the team managing a hospitality fund focusing on developing hotels across the Kingdom. At SCSA, he led the feasibility study and managed the execution of 2 of the Fund's projects (total capex of ~SR 500M) and was highly involved in deal structuring and fund raising (Debt and Equity).

 

Before SCSA, Georges was a M&A Analyst at Macquarie Bank in London focusing on the Utilities & Energy practice where he advised on the acquisition of various large companies. As an M&A analyst Georges worked on the valuation, built and ran financial models and prepared marketing material.

 

Prior to Macquarie, Georges was a Real Estate Investment Analyst at Morgan Stanley in Paris where he worked on the acquisition of commercial real estate portfolios (€180M portfolio of 8 office buildings in the Paris area, €50M portfolio of 4 retail warehouses in north of France).

 

Before Morgan Stanley, he was an Equity Research Analyst in the Real Estate sector at Société Générale in Paris. There, he performed macroeconomic market analysis and company research and participated in creating valuation models.

 

He started his career at BNP Paribas in Paris as an Equity Derivatives Analyst in the Front Office Organization team.

 

Georges holds a Master of Science in Management with an emphasis in Finance from the EM-Lyon Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering in electro-mechanical from the Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB).

 

Georges is a native Arabic speaker and fluent in French and English.
