Christos is the Founder & Managing Partner of Iliad Partners. He is a VC investor and former tech entrepreneur, angel investor, digital executive, and management consultant with 23+ years of experience in the US, Europe and MENA.
With Iliad Partners, he has actively been making VC investments in MENA since 2016, focusing on Pre-Series / Series A startups, including in regional success stories such as Trukker.
Based in Dubai since 2007, Christos was previously the Head of Business Development of Yahoo! Maktoob where he led tech and content partnerships in MEA, following the acquisition of Maktoob by Yahoo! which was the largest tech exit in MENA at the time.
Previously, he was an engagement manager with Booz & Company’s Communications, Media & Technology practice. There he advised Board and C-Level clients in TMT in the Middle East, Asia and Africa on corporate strategy, corporate development, strategic investments, M&A, JVs, portfolio management and growth strategies.
Christos previously held operating roles at four startups he co-built and exited: GlamBox (UAE; exited in 2017), SloanGear (US; exited in 2007), Upstream (Greece; exited in 2005), and govWorks (US; acquired by First Data Corporation in 2001).
He started his career in 1997 with Accenture based in New York, advising Fortune 500 telecommunications clients on strategic, operational, technology and regulatory matters.
He has served on the Boards of several startups (including Trukker, Oseven) and is currently a Founding Board Member of the Middle East Venture Capital Association (MEVCA). He was a founding Advisory Board member of MAGNiTT and previously on the Steering Committee of In5, a UAE accelerator. Christos is an active mentor in the ecosystem with Endeavor, MITEF, Techstars and other regional and global platforms.
Christos holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in International Relations from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Christos is a native speaker of Greek and English and conversational in French.
